love the snarkiness. i get annoyed sometimes with super-health conscious people. i know, food allergies… yada yada.
I have reluctantly become a wheat-free person. I actually cannot believe it. I’m turning into one of those people!
After reading some stuff about the terrible breed of wheat used in everything and it’s adverse health effects (of which I have many), I decided to see what would happen if I went wheat-free for a while. Apparently wheat sensitivity can cause problems with the thyroid, as well as other auto-immune problems— that’s what got my attention actually. Recently I found out my thyroid levels are a little off, nothing serious but could possibly turn into Hashimoto’s disease. I do not want to contract a disease named after someone. Those are the worst.
Anyway, I wasn’t expecting much of a change, so I’m kind of surprised how crappy I feel after I eat something with wheat in it. (I’m still wondering if it’s just psychological.) So now that I have a new baseline of how I should feel— which is pretty good— it makes sense that I don’t want to go back to the old way. (Right?)
this was inspired by episode 5 in season 1 (Gray Matter). my favorite Breaking Bad comics usually end with Walter saying, ‘can’t you understand that?!” so i had to put that in there. Love always, Merty.
hurray for me and my crappy drawings! i’m really happy they posted this, can’t you understand that!?
